Summary:

Steve Nichols is a struggling young actor with a crush on his beautiful neighbor, a padlock on his apartment door, and a gig as "Captain Avenger" for a movie promotion. When, on returning home late one evening he finds himself the innocent bystander at a deli hold-up, the stuff of heroes rises up within him and Captain Avenger, champion of the little guy, saves the day. When the normally decent Nichols allows his Captain Avenger to be used in a PR scheme to pump up the flagging popularity of the incumbent mayor, disaster looms.
